Guangzhou Baowen Garden

Guangzhou Baowen Garden (formerly Jinlongyuan Penjing Garden) stands as a premier representative of Lingnan penjing. It is the Exchange Center of the Bonsai Clubs International (BCI), a cooperative exchange center of the World Bonsai Friendship Federation (WBFF), a council member of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration’s Bougainvillea Industry National Innovation Alliance, the BCI International Penjing Industry–Education–Research Base, Deputy Director Unit of the Penjing & Scholar’s Rocks Committee of the Guangdong Society of Landscape Architecture, Dean’s Unit of the Modern Penjing Industry College of Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Trade, Dean’s Unit of the Baowen Penjing Craftsman Industry College of Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Trade, President Unit of the Guangdong Penjing Industry–Education Alliance, a member of the Guangdong Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Alliance, and a member of the Guangzhou National Modern Agricultural Industry Science and Technology Innovation Center. Since its inception, Baowen Garden has been dedicated to penjing cultivation, artistic creation, science popularization, theoretical integration, and technological R&D. It has become a mecca for penjing enthusiasts, having received tens of thousands of visits from domestic and international experts, association leaders, enthusiasts, and members of the public. The garden serves as a vital platform for enhancing the global influence of Chinese penjing and scholar’s rocks, fostering international recognition and appreciation of Chinese penjing culture, and promoting China’s penjing artistry and knowledge worldwide.

Since its founding, the garden has actively participated in numerous domestic and international exhibitions, consistently earning prestigious awards. These include the Overall Champion of the 1st and 2nd “China Cup” National Penjing Competitions, the top six Gold Awards at the 10th Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao–Taiwan Penjing Art Exposition, the Overall Champion of the 2015 International Penjing Convention & Asia-Pacific Penjing & Scholar’s Rocks Convention, the “Tree King” title at the 9th China Penjing Exhibition & 1st BCI China Regional Penjing Exhibition, the Overall Champion and Best Work Award at the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exposition Penjing Competition, the Gold Award at the 2020 10th China Penjing Exhibition, the Special Gold Award at the 2022 National Fine Penjing Exhibition, the Gold Award at the 2023 International Penjing Convention Annual Exhibition, the Gold Award at the 14th China International Garden Expo Penjing Exhibition, and the Special Gold Award at the BCI (Fengyang, China) Scholar’s Rocks Exhibition & 3rd Anhui Fine Penjing Invitational Exhibition. Baowen Garden was founded by Mr. Chen Chang, an Honorary Doctor, China Penjing Art Master, and BCI Bonsai Instructor. Mr. Chen is also Chairman and Founder of Pearl River Pipes Group, and currently serves as President of the  Bonsai Clubs International (BCI) and Chairman of its China Regional Committee, Chief Representative of the BCI Guangdong Office, Chairman of the World Bonsai Friendship Federation (WBFF) China Regional Committee, and Vice President of the Guangdong Society of Landscape Architecture.
